It is located 14 km from the city and resort of Drikish, where the inhabitants of the city of Arwad resided and established a temple to Astarte and Baal.

The construction of the fort extends over a wide area and takes a rectangular shape towards north-south direction. The temple structure stands at the highest point in the middle of the sanctuary. It has three main sections: 1- The Great Sanctuary 2- The Worship Hall 3- The Small Sanctuary. The wall of the fortress is built with huge rectangular stones up to ten meters long and 2.6 meters high. On each side of the four walls there is a gate through which the passage to the sanctuary of the temple takes place.
